Thomas is also remembered on the war memorial at St. Augustine of Hippo Church, Ipswich.

 

The Grenadier Guards, 5th Battalion.

The Battalion was raised in 1941 first serving in North Africa, fighting in major battles in Tunisia at Medjez-El-Bab and the Mareth Line. The 5th Battalion then moved to Italy joining the fighting at Salerno, Monte Camino and the Gothic Line.
