In 1910, Ipswich, Henry married Emily Lewis, born April 1886, Ipswich – daughter of Josiah Lewis, a railway guard, and Mary Ann Lewis (nee Bennett), of 193, Ranelagh Road, Ipswich.

Henry is also remembered on the war memorial at St. Mary at Stoke Church, Ipswich.
Emily Scrutton became the guardian of her nephew, Ronald Charles Pennock, born in 1915, Ipswich, to Emily’s sister, Eveline Pennock (nee Lewis), who died in 1917, at her home, 23, Ashley Street, Ipswich, aged 33, while her husband, Daniel Pennock, was away on active service. Daniel Pennock was born in 1881 in Braintree, Essex, and was a widower with two children when he married Eveline in 1912. After the war, Daniel returned to Hatfield Peverel, Essex and married again in 1921.
Harry’s sister, Eva, served as a nurse during the war. She tragically died in 1920 of Influenza.
