Died: 30th September 1944; age: 24; Died of Wounds.
Enlisted: 18th April 1940.

Regiment: Queen’s Royal Regiment (Royal Surrey), 2/7th Battalion – Infantry.
On the 14th June 1945, the body was exhumed, identified and reburied at Cesna War Cemetery.

In 1941, in Sittingbourne, Kent, Rowland married Lily Hilda Baker, born 1924, in Milton, Kent.
Lily Ling, of 93, George Street, Hadleigh, died on the 3rd July 1951, aged 26, at St. Helen’s Hospital, Foxhall Road, Ipswich, from Pulmonary Tuberculosis. Mrs. Bessie Sarah Ling, of 93, George Street, was the informant of her daughter-in-law’s death.
