My uncle was really good looking. It is so tragic that he died in such a pointless war.
So pleased to know more about my father and also grandparents whom I do not know I ever met as I moved to South Africa with my mother Sheila Backhouse in 1943 where my father, william Oswald Backhouse had gone in 1941.

My name is John Antony Backhouse son of William Oswald Backhouse I was born on the 24/04/1933. I was very young when my father left for South Africa So I know very little about his family, He did visit me a few times in the 1950’s but never said a lot about himself or his relations, We are trying to build a family tree and the Backhouse side of the family is very sparse.
