Born: 1920, Ipswich.

Died: 5th-15th February 1942; age: 21; Killed in the fighting for Singapore/Malaya.

Residence: 31, Felix Road, Ipswich.

 

Brother to ERNEST EDWARD MUNNINGS

Father: Ernest Charles Munnings, born December 1892, Ipswich. An Engineer’s Wood Pattern Maker.

Mother: Eva Josephine Munnings (nee Ware), born May 1892, Darlington, Durham.

 

4th Battalion
The Battalions were attached to the 18th East Anglian Division.
15 February 1942: After the fall of Singapore, approximately 620 of the Battalions were taken POW and later mostly died on the Burma-Thailand Railway.
