Father: Jack Roe Begg, born 1895, Ipswich – died in the First World War – 15th October 1916, aged 22 years. KiA during an attack against Mild Trench, during the Battle of the Somme. Ranked Sergeant, service number 13919, for the 11th Battalion of the Essex Regiment. Remembered on the Thiepval Memorial, France.

Mother: May Begg (nee Barber).
