Died: 17th January 1945; age: 25; killed by a German sniper.

Regiment: Grenadier Guards, 5th Battalion – Foot Guards.

5th Battalion:
1941: The Battalion was raised and served in North Africa and Italy where it fought significant battles in the Medjez-El-Bab and along the Mareth Line and in Italy at Salerno, Monte Camino, Salerno and along the Gothic Line .
1945: The Battalion disbanded.

Mother: Anna Jane Pilbro (nee Boon), born 1879, Sutton, Suffolk – died 1945, Ipswich.

In 1941, Poole, Dorset, Frederick married Nora Margaret Bugler, born July 1923, of 23, Beaconsfield Road, Parkstone.

They had 1 son.
