Mother: Eva Susanna Plumb (nee Bilke), born March 1890, Aldershot, Surrey. Later a Barnardo’s girl sent to Canada in June 1901.
Evelyn was 11 years old, when she and her family sailed from Montreal & Quebec on the ‘Ascania’ of the Cunard White Star Limited, arriving at the Port of London on the 20th September 1936. The Plumb family proposed to live at Clacton-on-Sea, Essex.
