Died: 28th January 1940; age 22; died Acute Streptococcal Septicaemia, at 61, Cemetery Road, Ipswich. Father – Edward Barnes present at death.

In January 1940, the 67th Medium Regiment was based in Ipswich.

2 unknown females, this was probably taken at Ipswich Ice Skating rink. He was a proficient skater.

The photo on the motorbike is taken in the back garden of 61 Cemetery Road, Ipswich (his parents home)
