In 1928, Ipswich, Charles married Alethea Elizabeth Jemima Vinyard, born November 1905, Ipswich – daughter of Arthur Vinyard, a labourer at the gas works, and Alethea Jemima Vinyard (nee Cocker), of Ipswich.

They had 1 son:

Eric C. F. Tillett, born 1929, Ipswich.
