In 1915, Ipswich, Charles married Hannah Maud Bennett, a factory hand at the corset factory, born May 1895, Ipswich – daughter of George Walter Bennett, a quay labourer, and Susannah Elizabeth Bennett (nee Roper), of 89, Regent Street, Ipswich.

Hannah and Charles had six children:
