  • Malcolm Palmer was born in Woolpit on 18th July 1895 and baptised at St Mary’s Church, on 25th August 1895. His mother was Margaret Susannah Palmer but no father’s name was given. He attended Woolpit School and was brought up in the village by his grandparents. He is remembered on the Woolpit War Memorial and the Woolpit and District Museum has a display about him for 2018 to mark the centenary of his death, along with four other young men from the village who were killed in 1918.
