Died: 16th January 1921; age: 48; of Chronic Nephritis & Bronchitis & Heart Failure, at the East Suffolk Hospital, Ipswich. His wife Kate was at his bedside.

Evening Star – Thursday, 17th February 1917 – AN ABSENTEE – On Thursday, 15th February, William Uriah White, of 52, Gibson Street, Ipswich, appeared before Mr. Sydney Brand, Mr. Alexander Gibb, Mr. William Harry Calver, and Mr. Pearson Turner at the Ipswich Police Court, where he pleaded Guilty to being an absentee from the 2nd Battalion of the Suffolk Regiment. Police Constable Gostling said that as a result of a telegram he was sent to 52, Gibson Street, Ipswich, and there saw the defendant, who admitted that he was an absentee. He was remanded to be handed over to a military escort.
Medals Awarded: Victory, British War & 1914 Star.
The funeral and burial service was held on the 20th January.

Kate and William had one son:

Kate was first married to Henry Thomas Woollard, a general labourer, born 1871, Ipswich. Henry Woollard died on the 3rd June 1903, and was buried in Section II, Ipswich Old Cemetery.
