In 1913, Ipswich, Walter married Belinda Smith (nee Page), born June 1880, Coddenham, Suffolk – daughter of Henry Page, an agricultural labourer and Priscilla Page (nee Finbow), of Coddenham.

They had 2 children:

Hilda May Horsup, born February 1914, Ipswich.

Arthur Charles Horsup, born May 1915, at 30, Parliament Road, Ipswich.

Walter’s sister, Daisy May Cuckow (nee Horsup) lost her husband, Percy Walter Cuckow as a result of the First World War. Percy, a Private, service number 26431, for the Bedfordshire Regiment, died 28th June 1919, from gunshot wounds to his right arm, he was 27. Laid to rest at the Field of Honour, Ipswich Old Cemetery.


Walter is also remembered on the war memorial at St. John the Baptist Church, Ipswich.
