Ronald was killed at the same time as Private John Thomas Field, a Private, 30189, for the South Staffordshire, 2nd Battalion, aged 25 years. John was the son of Edward Arthur Field, a railway shunter, and Sophia Field (nee Green), of 35, Russell Road, Wednesday, Staffordshire. Ronald and John were buried side by side.
