Born: 3rd April 1912, Felixstowe, Suffolk.

Died: 19th May 1944; age: 33.

Residence: 2, Grange Road, Felixstowe.

 

Rank: Corporal; Service Number: 5833656.

Regiment: Suffolk Regiment, 2nd Battalion – Infantry.

 

Originally buried 20th May 1944. Body exhumed, identified by a cross on grave and reburied 30th December 1944.

Relatives Notified & Address: Son of William James & Dora Studd; husband of Joyce Hazel Studd, of Whitton, Suffolk.

 

Father: William James Studd, born 1885, Walton, Suffolk – died 22nd November 1918, from pneumonia during the First World War. William was ranked a Driver, service number 10926, for the Royal Engineers, 1st Pontoon Park. Laid to rest at Caudry British Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France.

Mother: Dora Ellen Elizabeth Studd (nee Hearn), born April 1886, Felixstowe, Suffolk.

 

Robert’s mother, Dora remarried in 1920 to Thomas J. Williams, they made their family home at – 71, Princes Road, Felixstowe.

 

In 1936, Ipswich, Robert married Joyce Hazel Roper, born July 1916, Felixstowe, Suffolk – daughter of Percy Jack Roper, a postman and Frances Elsie Roper (nee Emmerson), of 463, Nacton Road, Ipswich.

They had 3 children:

Ann E. Studd, born June 1937, Felixstowe.

Janice E, Studd, born 1938, Felixstowe.

Richard J. Studd, born 1941, Ipswich.
