Died: 6th December 1943; age: 31; as a Japanese PoW – Thailand – Burma Railway.

Captured: 15th February 1942 – Fall of Singapore.

Employed: as a Shop Assistant – Grocery & Provision.

Regiment: Cambridge Regiment, 1st Battalion.

Mother: Jessie Forsdike (nee Last), born 1874, Gosbeck, Suffolk – died 1937, Ipswich.

In 1939, Ipswich, Reginald married Cecilia Alice Brighten, born November 1913, Ipswich.

Reginald was a Shop Assistant – Grocery & Provision. He and Cecilia were living at their home – 53, St. Matthew’s Church Lane, Ipswich.

Cambridgeshire Regiment, 1st Battalion
The Battalion was attached to the 18th East Anglian Division.( including 4/5th Battalion the Suffolk Regiment)
15 February 1942: After the fall of Singapore, approximately 620 of the Battalions were taken POW and later mostly died on the Burma-Thailand Railway.
