Died: 14th December 1943: age: 41; died of High Blood Pressure (Idiopathic) & Congestive Heart Failure, at Royal Naval Sick Quarters, North Ness, Orkney.

In 1926, Sculcoates, Hull, John married Edith Cullen, born 1904, Hull – daughter of James Cullen, a trawler engineer, and Ada Cullen (nee Beales), of 120, Somerset Street, Kingston-Upon-Hull.

Edith Rogers died on the 8th June 1935, at 280, St. George’s Road, Hull.
On the 14th April 1942, at The Register Office, Ipswich, 39 year old John, a widower and Cook – LT/M.X. 87601 for the Royal Navy – Merchant Service, married Alice Lucy Pennell (nee Vincent), a widow, and the Landlady of The Gardener’s Arms, Fore Hamlet, Ipswich, born October 1887, 19, St. John Street, Ipswich – daughter of the late Walter Ranson Vincent, a boiler maker, and Maria Vincent (nee Bugg), of Ipswich.
Alice recorded she was 48 years of age when she was 54 years of age.
Alice was first married in September 1909, at St. Bartholomew’s Church, Ipswich, to Percy Leonard Pennell, born 1881, Ipswich, a licensed victualler. Alice and Percy had two children. Percy Pennell died in May 1932, in Ipswich.
