Born: 23rd February 1911, Ipswich.
Died: 16th July 1945; age: 35; died of Malaria whilst a Japanese POW, at the POW Camp Hospital, at Kuching, on the island of Borneo.
Harry contracted Malaria on the 19th February 1945.
Captured: 9th March 1942 – Japanese victory at the Battle of Borneo.
Residence: 269, Landseer Road, Ipswich.
Occupation: Fruit Salesman.
Rank: Gunner; Service Number: 1522934.
Regiment: Royal Artillery, 48 Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment.
The body was originally buried at grave Q.17., at Batu Lintang Camp Cemetery, Kuching. On the 15th September 1946, the body was exhumed, identified and reburied at Labuan War Cemetery, Malaysia.
