Born: 24th December 1888, Ipswich.

Died: 7th February 1917; age 29; at Epsom, Surry.

Date of Entry Therein: 18th April 1915 – France.

Discharged 18th January 1917.

 

Rank: Private; Service Number: 3145

Regiment: Suffolk Regiment, 4th Battalion.

 

Medals Awarded: Victory, British War & 1915 Star.

Frank was 3 years old and living with his parents.

Alfred Dalby, 29, a Quay Labourer, born Helmingham, Suffolk.

Ellen Dalby (nee Harvey), 30, born Eye, Suffolk.

 

1901   17, Baker Street, Ipswich.

 

Frank was 14 years old and living with his parents.

Alfred, 40, a General Carter – Farm.

Ellen, 39, a Stay Stitcher.

 

1911   ‘The Castle’ Barking Road, Plaistow, Essex.

 

Frank was 25 years old, a Barman – Public House. He was 1 of 3 barmen for the Manager – Charles David Clyde Early.

 

On the 14th October 1895, Alfred Dalby registered his son, Frank, at Woolmore Street School, Tower Hamlets. The Dalby family were living at 11, Warrington Road, London. Frank had previously attended a school at Ipswich.
