Aircraft: Avro Lancaster I; Serial Number: HK570; Code: JI-P. Took off from Waterbeach, Cambridgeshire at 23:13pm to join 147 Lancaster’s on a mission to bomb oil plants at Homberg, Germany. Crashed in sea off  Renesse on the Dutch coast at 01:59am. 20 of the 147 Lancaster’s never returned.
