Originally buried at Tasao No. 2 Cemetery, grave 299. Body later exhumed, identified by records and reburied 1st March 1946 at Kanchanaburi War Cemetery.

In 1940, Ipswich, Eric married Ruby Nancy Hudson, a Sorter at Tobacco Factory born May 1916, Ipswich – daughter of Arthur Ernest Hudson, a bricklayer and Alice Victoria Hudson (nee Stringer), of 5, Beaconsfield Road, Ipswich.
