Born: 1906, Newcastle upon Tyne, Northumberland.
Died: 9th February 1945; age 39; of Asphyxia from coal gas poisoning – at 8, Geneva Road, Ipswich – self administered – being at the time of unsound mind did kill himself.
Inquest held 13th February 1945.
Occupation: an Electrician.
Rank: Leading Aircraftman; Service Number: 1263808.
Regiment: Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserves.

Every year a Battle of Britton service is held at Whitton church. Following the service, Air cadets and a civic party lay wreaths at the graves of the two airmen.
