William attended Ipswich School. He gained a M.A. at Cambridge.


Probate to Harry Turner Long, a Farmer.


On the 29th July 1938, William departed England on the S.S.’Carthage’ of the P&O Steam Navigation Company, bound for Yokohama, Japan. William travelled 2nd Class, his destination was Singapore. He was 30 years old, of Prospect House, Nedging, his intended permanent residence was Malaya, to be a Rubber Planter.


William is also remembered on the Ipswich School Chapel war memorial.
