Born: 1906, Battersea, Surrey.

Died: 11th April 1944; age: 38; of Cerebral Laceration from a gunshot wound of the head at ‘Alasdair’ The Street, Claydon, Suffolk – self inflicted – did kill himself at a time when the balance of his mind was disturbed.

Inquest held 12th April 1944.

Residence: 30, Bolderwood Way, West Wickham, Kent.

Occupation: a Commercial Traveller.

 

Rank: Second Lieutenant; Service Number: 302413.

Regiment: Royal Army Service Corps, 486 Tipper Company.

John is also remembered on the Ipswich School Chapel war memorial.
