Died: 2nd October 1941; age: 29; Lost on a Spitfire sweep over France.

Regiment: Royal Air Force, Volunteer Reserve, 92 Squadron.

Mother: Lucy Elizabeth Edge (nee Beverley), born 1878, Grimoldby, Lincolnshire.

 

Henry attend Ipswich School.

 

Probate to Thomas Randal Edge, an Electrical Engineer.

Henry is also remembered on the Ipswich School Chapel war memorial.

 

2nd October 1941

 

Aircraft: Spitfire Vb; serial number: W3137. Henry and 2 other 92 Squadron pilots were lost in the sweep over France.

W3459 – John Wilfred Lund; Flight Lieutenant; age 22; R.A.F.V.R.

W3762 – Kenneth George Port; Sergeant; age 21; R.A.F.V.R.

A fourth pilot made it back to England, and crash landed near Ashford, survived and was hospitalised.

W3657 – David Alistair Bruce; Pilot Officer; R.A.F.V.R. David died in Egypt, 10th March 1943; age 29; with 112 Squadron.
