Died: 6th November 1917; age 27.

Next of Kin: Mrs Wildon, 41, Cauldwell Hall Road, Ipswich. Height: 5fy & 7 ins, dark complexion, brown eyes & dark brown hair. Coal marks on back. Tattooed on both arms – a bird, butterfly & woman.

25th April 1915 – Gallipoli – Wounded in action.

4th May 1915 – St. Andrew’s Hospital admitted from “Clan Mack” Malta – Compound Fracture – right arm.

27th May 1915 – St. Andrew’s Hospital – transferred to “Tigre” Malta.

7th July 1915 – re admitted to St. Andrew’s Hospital.

20th August 1915 – H.T. “Southland” embarked for Egypt.

11th September 1915 – H.T. “Karoo” embarked for Overseas class A Alexandria.

16th September 1915 – re-joined Battalion – Lemnos.

28th December 1915 – H.T. “Huntogreen” Disembarked at Alexandria.

22nd March 1916 – embarked for overseas.

28th March 1916 “Invernia” Disembarked Marseilles.

Wounded in action – France – 22nd July 1916.

23rd July 1916 – Gun Shot Wound to back. Admitted to 1. Stationary Hospital and transferred to A.T.22.

20th May 1916 – Insolence & obscene language to an N.C.O. Award – 7 days F.P. No. 2. France.

Mrs Louisa Wildon of 18, Schreiber Road, Ipswich received Arthur’s effects on the 22nd February 1918.

The Memorial Plaque & Memorial Scroll were sent to Mrs L. Wildon on the 13th October 1922.

 

IMMIGRATION

On the 25th November 1908, Arthur departed from London Port on board SS ‘Pericles’ of the Aberdeen Line – Master A. Simpson. He was 19 years old and listed his occupation as Fishmonger. Arrived Sydney, New South Wales on the 9th January 1909.
